Privacy Statement for and the Couple's Workstation.

Brainerd Psychological Association and and the Couple's Workstation respect the privacy of the users of our services and web site. To that effect, we have instituted the follow Privacy Policy:

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

Your membership in the Couple's Workstation will be kept confidential and all the data you enter in your Workstation will be private. Each of you will have your own private Work Area that even your Partner cannot visit without your permission. No one except you will have access to your Workstation or information. The only exceptions are (1) The highest levels of The Couple's Workstation Administration; and (2) Sometimes technical people may have to review portions of the database to fix programming bugs or data that has been causing problems. These people are committed to confidentiality and any violation will result in the loss of their jobs. A third exception may be the Gateway Provider or the owner of the  website where you joined the Workstation.  If there is a professional on staff who has been trained in the Workstation, they may have access to your name and email address so they can inform you of local support that is available. They cannot enter your workstation without your giving them your username and password.

Forms or information that you send to your partner will be able to be accessed by your partner after that time, but not before you release them to him or her.

Apart from the exceptions listed above, be assured that your names, addresses, email addresses will never be given to anyone..

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the Relationship-Help website or the Couple's Workstation. On some pages, you can order products, make requests, purchase a membership and use on-line forms. This information is only used to fulfill your orders and needs. It is used for no other reason and is NEVER provided to other companies. The types of personal information collected at these pages are:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Credit/Debit Card Information
  • Relationship Information

On some pages, you can submit information about other people. For example, if you fill out one of our forms in the Couple's Workstation, it may request information about your partner.

We use the information you provide about yourself when placing an order only to complete that order. Relationship information is used solely for your benefit to complete forms and use the information to provide insight and understanding and to provide you and your partner with email reminders. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete order if an order is involved.

In order to process your order, we need to know some standard information such as your name, e-mail address, mailing address, credit card number and telephone number. For example: If you order a book, then the information needed to send you that book is made available to necessary parties. It is our policy that this information is private and confidential. Accordingly, the personal information you provide is stored in a secure location, is accessible by no one other than essential personnel, and is used only for the purposes for which you provide the information. When you submit an order, your information is encrypted with secure server software to protect the information from unauthorized access. We will not sell, rent or trade or give away any personal information we collect from you on our web site.

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties. The email addresses you provide are also used to send you and your partner email reminders and occasionally information about the site or special offerings or classes. These uses can be discontinued by you either online or by emailing or phoning our office. (See below)

You can register with our website if you would like to receive our Newsletter as well as updates on our new products and services. Information you submit on our website will not be used for this purpose unless you fill out the registration form or application form.

We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and to share with advertisers or potential support therapists or web partners. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled out our registration form or joined the Couple's Workstation, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

Protecting the privacy of our users is very important. We will not make available any of the personal information you submit to anyone without your permission. For Members of the Couple's Workstation, the information you provide will also be private even to your partner unless you release the information to him or her.

If you send us information by email and request feedback about your information, we may share that with the appropriate staff or professionals needed to give you the necessary feedback.

Therapists joining our therapists' membership area or individual and couples joining the Couple's Workstation can access and change their data online.

We use this procedure to better safeguard your information. You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

No Computer Tracking of Identifiable Information: [ back to top ]
Our computer is not set up to track, collect or distribute personal information about its visitors. It does recognize the home server of visitors, but not e-mail addresses. For example, we can tell which Internet Service Provider our visitors use, but not the names, addresses or other information about our visitors that would allow us to identify the particular visitors to our sites.

In addition, our website tracks information about the visits to our web sites. For example, we compile statistics that show the daily number of visitors to our sites, the daily requests we receive for particular files on our web sites, and what countries those requests come from. These aggregated statistics are used internally to better provide services to the public and may also be provided to others, but again, the statistics contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information.
