The benefits for sponsoring Couple's Garden Chapters are many:

Relationship to Members
Members will see their faith community as caring about them in a very real, meaningful and practical way.

Outreach to Community

The Couple's Garden will become the first contact with the church or synagogue for some couples and will be part of the community outreach.
Couples who attend certain workshops and seminars will be encouraged to connect with a Couple's Garden Seminar in their area.
Each chapter will be listed in the Couple's Garden WEB site and will draw people to the chapter and to the congregation

Strengthens the center of the family unit
Divorce and troubled marriages are difficult for children, for the family and for the faith community. Healthy marriages contribute to the community, have healthy children who help create a better world for us all.

Meets significant needs of the congregation and the community
Marriages today face unique challenges and have needs that are also unique to our time in history. (Click here to review needs that are met by the Couple's Garden). Faith communities can feel good about making sure that these needs are addressed in their congregation.

Builds relationships with the professional community.
Many congregations find it valuable to have some connection with the professional mental health community. The Couples Garden will help ministers get acquainted with the professionals who may be used for referrals for other personal and family problems in the congregation.

Could be a fund raising experience
Couples Garden seminars are designed to be self-sustaining. That is, we recommend that a small fee be charged for the seminar and for the year's membership. These fees will cover the cost of the speakers and the cost of the hors d'oeuvres.

There are two ways Couple's Garden Seminars can actually become fund-raisers for the marriage ministry of the congregation:

Depending on the size of the Couple's Garden chapter, once the costs are covered for the speakers and hors d'oeuvres, the excess can be used to (a) offer scholarships for couples in financial need or (b) use the extra funds for additional marriage programs (workshops, seminars, etc.)
Couple's Garden Chapters who have their own WEB site may place a connection to the Couple's Work Station on their WEB so that couples can enter the Work Station through the church or synagogue WEB site. They then will receive 25% of the fee for using the Work Station. This itself could eventually fund the Couple's Garden Chapter and other ministries.
